About This Member Club
Inland Jeep Freeks (IJF) is a Southern California-based off-road social club focused on Jeep owners who are passionate about responsible wheeling, safety, and real-world participation. Operating primarily throughout the Southwest, the club emphasizes mentorship, trail etiquette, and hands-on experience.
Membership Requirements
IJF follows a structured and participation-driven membership process.
Eligibility:
- Must own a Jeep 4WD vehicle
- Must be at least 18 years old
Candidate Requirements:
- Attend at least 4 club meetings
- Complete at least 2 club-sponsored trail runs
- Participate in 1 overnight camping trip
Approval Process:
- Final membership requires a vote from existing members
Dues:
- $50 per year
Advocacy:
Members are encouraged to support land-use organizations such as:
- CORVA (California Off-Road Vehicle Association)
- California Four Wheel Drive Association (Cal4Wheel)
Activities and Trail Locations
IJF organizes year-round off-road adventures across a wide range of terrain and difficulty levels.
Desert Trails:
- Bee Canyon (Hemet)
- Blair Valley
- Truckhaven
- Johnson Valley (including Claw Hammer)
Mountain Trails:
- San Bernardino Mountains
- Cleveland National Forest
- San Gabriel Mountains
Trail Stewardship:
- Maintains the 2N87Y trail through the Adopt-a-Trail program with the U.S. Forest Service
Extended Trips:
- Moab, Utah
- Arizona off-road destinations
Meetings and Events
The club maintains a consistent schedule of meetings and social activities.
Monthly Meetings:
- First Sunday of each month
- Social hour: 5:30 PM
- Official meeting: 6:00 PM
Community Events:
- Annual club picnic
- Participation in local Jeep nights (Riverside area)
Education and Mentorship
A major focus of IJF is developing skilled and responsible off-road drivers.
Driver Training:
- Teaches safe driving practices
- Emphasizes understanding vehicle limits
Trail Etiquette:
- Promotes responsible use of public lands
- Encourages respect for trails and other users
Peer Mentorship:
- Experienced members guide newer drivers through real trail scenarios
